Sunday’s Sketchbook
The sun was out this weekend, something to celebrate in the Northwest, so we spent a lot of time outdoors. Met friends for coffee, walked in nature and strolled around some of our favorite places in Seattle
As the sun went down and i realized i hadn’t done any artwork this weekend, i cranked up the heater in my garage studio and spent some time with my charcoal sticks capturing some inspiration from iPhone images i have gathered over the last year.
The image i decided to post is this one of this very solid wooden stanchion that is sitting at the bottom of the landing from 1st avenue in downtown Langley on Whidbey island. the wooden stairs lead down to the Seawall Park and a sliver of rocky beach.
I like the angle and the strength of the wood lashed together with the oiled cable. The things that light must have seen on lazy summer days and cold winter nights…
