Block printing again

Years ago i was experimenting with torn paper grounds and acrylic paint on top (see Paul Horiuchi to see where the inspiration came from).

We were working with our son’s elementary school on art projects and they were doing linocut block prints. It looked interesting and easy.

Note: I worked for a silk screen shop while in college so have always been interested by the printing process, especially the old woodcut prints by master Japanese artists.

So this week I got out the soft rubber Speedball speedy rubber stamp blocks, some tools and ideas and started just creating art. Still experimenting to refine the line and texture, but pretty happy to see where it goes from here.
