BAM!: multiple pieces at the same time

This year I volunteered to participate in the fundraising effort for the Burien Arts fundraiser BAM!

The event consists of about fifty artists who produce nine new and unique works of art on 8 x 8 inch panels provided by Burien Arts in a medium of their choosing.

I picked up my boards a week ago and need to have them all finished in 6 weeks. This would be a personal stretch anyway, but I have a heavy schedule at work and travel in there too.

So I decided to try and work on all of the pieces at the same time. Why? So that I didn’t get too caught up in obsessing over details or any single piece. And, to experiment with continuous learning that improve all of the pieces as I go.

I decided to do 5 pieces in flat acrylic on the boards and 4 of the pieces as mixed media with torn paper grounds. I have started with the drawings and the paper backgrounds…
