Texture, nature and daily sketching

As part of the The 100 Day Project challenge, i spent the last week or so doing “portraits” of some of the trees in my backyard. These are small (4×4 inch) charcoal drawings, done with General charcoal pencils; medium and soft.

It has been fun trying to capture the different textures of the individual trees as well as the grain and the bark that is so different among the species.

Focusing on b&w only and choosing to do 10 individual drawings of each subject during the project. Stay tuned for more. What should i draw next?
